The young volunteers also help with shopping, chores and assist the elderly in the use of technology so they stay in touch with loved ones who may be living and working abroad.
"We are pleased to see the radiation of joy from our elders when they are visited by our students."
The young people in return gain more appreciation for their own culture and history through the stories told by the elderly. Through the interaction and several weekly visits a bond is naturally created. In addition, Hearts United Holistic Care Foundation organizes activities in which the elderly and the students can participate.
